As an educational leader, I wish to make the school in which I work the focal point of an inclusive learning community that creates an inviting atmosphere where all children are excited and motivated to learn, promotes continuous school improvement, fosters a positive relationship between home and school, and holds all stakeholders accountable to clearly established standards for excellence in teaching and learning.
This vision is based on three premises:
1. The belief that all stakeholders in the learning community desire to improve the teaching and learning process 2. The belief that the collective skills and knowledge of the members of the learning community working in unison exceed the summative capacity of individuals acting alone 3. The belief that an authentic learning community is created by increasing the leadership and instructional capacity of all members of the organization through ongoing dialogue and collaboration
To accomplish this I promise to:
· Create a culture of continuous school improvement in which all stakeholders including parents, staff, and students participate in an ongoing dialogue about teaching and learning · Establish shared goals based on an analysis of the strengths and needs of the school · Develop a system of ongoing data driven decision making so that all members of the organization can evaluate the implementation of our improvement efforts · Promote a climate of creative problem solving that focuses on improving current practices and effectively connecting people to resources for the sole purpose of improved student achievement of all learners based on their needs and abilities · Celebrate our accomplishments, both great and small, which emphasize the growth and development of our students · Develop personal relationships with all members of the learning community based on mutual respect and an appreciation for diversity and blended cultures · Treat all children at Kenilworth as if they were my own
